House Hunting Is Hard

Hi there,

We have never done this house buying business so I’m not sure what this letter is supposed to say. I guess I will start by describing our day of house hunting.

My husband and I have a toddler and a sweet pup. We spent all afternoon on Sunday running our amazing realtor all over South Bend. We saw homes we sort of liked and a lot we absolutely did not like. By the end of the evening we were all as exhausted as the two year old was. We decided to go see one last house before calling it a day. The moment we pulled up we knew we loved the area. We saw neighbors walking their dogs, older couples holding hands in their yard, and a perfectly sized home for a new family.

We walked in and our toddler said “I like this house!” and beelined for the kitchen (we love to cook together so he is big into kitchens!). I can’t say that I didn’t want to run around as well, I felt at home the moment we walked in. I instantly envisioned our family growing here for years to come. We have been discussing plans since we left.

We are going to put a bench by the window for our insanely loud-snoring bulldog to nap on while I work at my desk. We are going to spend our summers in the backyard splashing in a kiddie pool and laughing until the mosquitos come out (hopefully they aren’t too bad out there, any insight?). We are going to finish the basement so we can hold as many family members as possible for the holidays. We are going to really, really love this home.
