Things you will need: bagel, cheese, avocado, onion or whatever else you like on your bagel
If you truly know me you know your girl loves bagels. I am talking real bagels, not that store bought stuff or Panera quality, but real, true, bagels. From sweet to savory – I could eat a bagel at every single meal.
I came across a video of someone making a bagel sandwich and knew my life was going to be changed forever. So here I am embarrassing myself by confessing my love of bagels just so you all can have this amazing recipe.
To start, get yourself a GOOD bagel. I needs to be pretty thick because you are going to slice it horizontally into 4 different pieces. I found it easiest to start with the top, then bottom, then slice the middle two in half.
Once your bagel is sliced go ahead and butter your two middle pieces and throw them in a frying pan as well as take your top and bottom and lightly toast them in a toaster. Once crispy flip over and butter the other side. When you have both sides crispy then and only then will you add your cheese. That’s right – we are making a grilled cheese with the two middle slices of bagel.
While your grilled cheese is finishing cooking you are going to mash up some avocado onto the bottom slice of your bagel and season with whatever you like – I did seasoned salt and garlic pepper. Your grilled cheese should be done by now and you can layer it on top of that freshly mashed avocado.
To finish off this beautiful breakfast, you can fry and egg, add some bacon, maybe tomato – whatever you are into and add it to the very top of your bagel.
Simply stack, eat and enjoy!
